How do I receive the Files?

Creative Textiles
Textile design has always been my first love. Creative knitting has been a huge passion for me, exploring the forms and colour mixing that this versatile craft can bring.
Over the years I have made hundreds of interesting pieces including garments, home items including cushions, bags, accessories, toys and pictures. Every item of my creative textile pieces have been a totally unique construction, using combinations of my trusty sewing machine, knitting machines and of course hand knitting needles.
Over the years I have been inspired by the works of Kaffe Fassett and Patricia Roberts to name but a few. My colour sense and sensitivity to design was sharpened by my degree course. But living in the depths of the Lincolnshire countryside, I’m inspired by the changing seasons, nature, and the flowers and plants in my garden.
I’m always trying something new, exploring different ideas but In the last few years I have been concentrating on home decor and experimenting with unique luxury scatter cushions.
Dolls House Miniature Paintings
I established Kay Burton Miniature Paintings in 2002. I enjoyed reproducing the works of old masters and artisans, creating miniature masterpieces, but having a great interest in history a lot of my paintings reflected this – particularly historical figures, costume and buildings. I particularly admire the works of Thomas Gainsborough, Edgar Degas, John William Waterhouse and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Other subjects I enjoyed painting are landscapes, botanical studies, birds, animals (especially cat portraits), wildlife and still life.
I found that acrylic paint was the best medium to use, as it can be applied as finely as watercolour for delicate work, or as thickly as oils, to achieve deep rich undertones thus enabling me to create picture styles in whatever mood took me. Using good quality paint and acid-free paper and I made individual frames from wooden mouldings which I finished with gold lacquer or varnish. All paintings lightly varnished to protect and preserve them.
My paintings, mostly 1/12th or 1/24th scale have been bought both by dolls house enthusiasts and miniature picture collectors throughout Europe and America but also worldwide.
More recently though I have enjoyed painting in a bigger scale. I no longer take miniature painting commissions but I still have framed ready to hang original paintings for sale.
For that unique twist, I also have some framed miniature paintings mounted on to luxury boxed greeting cards in an art gallery style, these make a unique gift for any miniature lover. These cards can also be purchased from the Paradis Terrestre Website where there is a full range of cards which include cards with prints of my mini paintings which again, I mount onto unique and fun art gallery cards.
