After George Stubbs (1724-1806) Originally painted c.1792 George is thought to be one of the best animal portrait artists of the eighteenth century. Indeed, he mastered the anatomy and his artistic translations of animals and nature while living in Horkstow. His most known works are those of paintings of horses, dogs, and wild animals.
